An email came to me about golden sun! By Tom D. this is what he said:
I know a little bit about the stuff in GS 2. On your site, you say the three characters are Garushia, Jasmine and Shiva. These are probably the Japanese names. These characters are actually Felix, Jenna and Sheba. Exciting, eh? Too bad they can't be Saturos, Menardi, and Alex. That'd be so awesome!
There will also be more Djinn. Thirty-five, I think. Summon levels exceed 4. There's none of the original summons in GS 2, though. Man, Ramses would look cool with a new makeover!
Also, you gain and lose party members as sidequests demand.
If you already knew this and haven't had a chance to put it on your site yet, well....Anyway, your walkthrough really helped me out on my game. Saved me the time of getting off my lazy rump and buying a strategy guide and made me not have to think on my own. (aw thanks tom!)
Some exclusive info:
The sequel to Golden Sun for GBA will cover a story previous and fore coming to that of the current saga. It will start with the background of Jenna and Felix's childhood, and their association with the hero (Isaac once again) and his friend Garet. This time frame is not playable. It will then skip 1 year into the future of the end of the previous adventure. The 6 (Isaac, Garet, Ivan, Mia, Jenna & Felix) are starting on a new adventure for Kraden. It involves the beginnings of Alchemy and 'Lemuria'. For me to continue the story would be to spoil it for you. Basic facts i will give you though:
The new party system will still involve 4 fighters, but will have an alternating system (as seen in Chrono Trigger for SNES (Squaresoft)).
There will be a minimum of 6 playable characters and others you can find in side-quests
There will be a 'Bank' or "Storage' system for your items and money
There will still be a Djinn system but with 3 new classes (Light, Dark, and Psy) There are 35 Djinns in the game, where only 5 of each this time. Summons do not end at level 4 but also another at 5. There will be no repeated Summons from the previous game.
There are 4 transport systems, but vehicles (Final Fantasy Series (Squaresoft)) will not be involved. Instead, the Djinni will aid in transport. An air Djinn for air travel, a water one for sea, an earth Djinn for underground travel and a light Djinn for Time**.
Character classes and elements can be changed with experience and Elemental Force (if an Earth Adept uses enough fire summons, his element will change to fire.)
Psyenergies learned from crystals and such are obsolete. New Psyenergies can be learned through experience and now also through Tomes (Great books of knowledge)
Expect the sequel to be out in stores by Christmas 2002.
** Time travel will be available but only to specific eras
